Music inspired by the Children and Nature movement

"I’m SO HAPPY and EXCITED to announce the release of my new CD: Nature Needs Kids and Kids Need Nature— Music Inspired by the Children and Nature Movement!" --Jenny Morgan

Jenny’s new album is inspired by the burgeoning Children and Nature movement.  Over the past three years concerned citizens, parents, governors, CEOs and heads of various non profit organizations from around the world have been organizing to get our children back outside and reconnected with the natural world.  This wonderful and inspiring compilation includes the title track Nature Needs Kids and Kids Need Nature, as well as Leave No Child Inside, Letter from Camp, and The Blue Light, a poignant song about our children’s addiction to video games, and the importance of helping them find those quiet places where they can “lay down in the grass and dream, dream, dream.”  Two of the tracks on Jenny’s new album include the sweet and joyous voices of the kindergartners from the local school where she teaches.  Ms. Morgan and these very special kindergartners were recently invited to the Governor’s mansion in Columbus, Ohio where they were honored to sing for Mrs. Strickland, First Lady of Ohio.  Along with being a singer and a songwriter, Jenny is also the founder and co-chair of the Leave No Child Inside Central Ohio Collaborative.  Through both of these roles, Jenny is hoping to inspire more people to join the Children and Nature Movement.  “We need to get our children up, outside, moving, and reconnected with nature”, says Ms. Morgan.  “The health of our children AND the health of our natural world depend on it!  I hope my CD might inspire kids and adults alike to want to turn off all the electronic gadgets, and to fling open their doors to run and play outside!!”

 RAGS TO RICHES—I wrote Rags to Riches after watching the Belmont Stakes last year.  A filly won for the first time in over a century!!  I have since learned that horse racing may have some questionable practices that put the horses at risk- case in point --Eight Belles at the Kentucky Derby this past May, 2008.  That was heart breaking!  I am still researching the horse industry/horse racing to determine for myself where I stand on this issue. I was so inspired by Rags to Riches, but I don’t want my song to mistakenly be construed as being supportive of horse racing, especially when I don’t know the truth yet behind the assertions that the industry is putting these horses in harms way.
